Biography:

With over 40 years of teaching experience, I have built a diverse and accomplished career in figure skating. I have served as Skating Director for a combined 13 years at Sportsland, Farmington Hills, Brighton, and Hartland. My performance background includes two years as a line skater with Shipstad & Johnson's Ice Follies. I hold a 6th Figure Test and have competed at the Regional level. Coaching highlights include five years as a synchronized skating coach at Allen Park and Wayne Ice Arena, and serving as Assistant Coach for the Plymouth Gems Intermediate USFS team. I've produced and directed nine ice shows - six at Farmington Hills and three at Hartland. A member of USFS, I trained for a decade under world and Olympic-level coaches at the Detroit Skating Club. I've also worked extensively with hockey player on fundamental skating skills and have taught under both the ISI and USFS programs. My students have successfully passed through ISI Freestyle Level 8, USFS 5th Figure Test, and recently achieved Gold Moves. They have competed in both ISI and USFS competitions. I teach skaters of all ages and levels in Basic Skills, Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Figures, and Hockey skating.
